Emergency Veterinarian – The Veterinary Medical Center at Lakewood Ranch (Lakewood Ranch, FL)
The Veterinary Medical Center at LWR is a privately owned 18,000-square-foot hospital serving the Bradenton–Sarasota area, about one hour south of Tampa. We operate both a General Practice and a new Emergency & Specialty Hospital under one roof, providing high-quality medicine in a supportive environment. Our General Practice was founded in 2018 and our Emergency & Specialty Department was opened in 2022.
Our Facility & Technology:
Our ER & Specialty center has 13 exam rooms, three surgery suites, two welcoming reception areas, CT, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, an on-site animal blood bank run by our Critical Care team, a dedicated ultrasound room, a separate cat ward, and isolation facilities.
Our General Practice includes 9 exam rooms, 1 surgery suite, 1 dental suite, a separate entrance and waiting area, and more!
Our new facility features advanced equipment including:
Ultrasound machines (3), CatScan (CT), Endoscopy, Fluoroscopy, and Mechanical Ventilation
High-flow oxygen therapy
IDEXX in-house lab (CBC, chemistry, urinalysis, PT/aPTT, lactate, i-STAT) and NOVA analyzer
CardioStart defibrillator, CardioPet, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, and a Companion Animal Laser
Full anesthesia monitoring (HR, RR, EtCO2, SpO2, BP, Temp)
Doppler and oscillometric blood pressure systems
Three ICU oxygen units
Two digital radiology suites, and more!

Schedule
Full-time or part-time schedules are available, typically ranging from 8–12 emergency shifts per month, including weekends, overnights, and holidays. We are looking for an emergency clinician who is interested in a combination of day and overnight shifts (50% day, 50% overnights). For those wanting more overnight shifts, we offer a higher compensation package. One year minimum experience in busy ER is required.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary. All of our current doctors work on set yearly salary (no production), but we are open to a base/production compensation package if desired.
