Description
Hotham's Veterinary Service i s looking for the best and brightest veterinary assistants to join our team. At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. Our fun-loving, family-like environment means you'll probably become best friends with your coworkers through fun team building activities, lunches and collaborating. As part of our team, you'll work with the latest technology, gain access to state-of-the-art training facilities, and collaborate with a positive team to deliver the highest quality of care to the pet patients we all love.Hotham Veterinary Services is currently a 3-doctor practice with 2 locations. We have a fantastic support team at each site and well-equipped, well cared for hospitals that include ultrasound, full lab, and digital radiology. We provide and maintain a well-stocked ambulatory unit for large animal services. We are known for offering the best care with compassion and integrity. We empower our staff to pursue their passions and expand their skill set with continuous education and mentorship if desired. Veterinary Assistant
Hotham Veterinary Services Houlton
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Bringing clients/patients to exam rooms and obtaining history
- Collecting voided urine/fecal samples
- Assisting DVM/LVT with treatments
- Executing treatment orders
- Keeping cages clean and sanitized
- Walking, feeding, and picking up after animals
- Cleaning duties as needed (Laundry, Dishes, Mopping, etc...)
- Communicating with client s via phone and in-person
- Taking/assisting in taking radiographs
- Filling prescribed medication
- Restraining animals
- Have a basic understanding of prescribed medications

REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in an animal hospital preferred but not required
