Description
Bon Air Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our amazing team!
Our focus is on being a place of comfort for our clients and pets, in sickness and in health. You will have an open door for growth opportunities ranging from becoming a veterinary technician, specialty medicine, and future management positions!
We are a fast-paced, full-service, small-animal practice. We are privately owned and enjoy a family environment. We are looking for an outstanding individual who is a team player, and who understands the importance of quality pet care.
- Schedules are Monday-Friday from 7:45am-3pm or 11:45am-7pm depending on the day. We also work every other Saturday from 8:30am-12pm.
- Hourly pay starts at $14hr and increases based on experience.

- In addition, we have a lot of fun as a team together. Every year we take a group trip to Busch Gardens, play paintball together, Top Golf, and have parties for the Holidays.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Caring for our Boarding animals
- Cleaning, laundry and basic clinic up keep
- Patient handling and restraint
- Medication administration & filling prescriptions
- Assisting our Technicians and our Veterinarian as needed
- Tackling projects as assigned (with a smile, as always!)
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- High school diploma or GED required
- Preferred have at least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience
- Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff. (It's okay if you talk to animals, too!)
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
- Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
